hey hey

Hey everyone!!!!! Wow, I had an excellent week this last week and I have so much to say!!!
Elder Cruz and Elder Miller

First off, I can really say for the first time in all my mission I got cold but I mean really cold!!! I don't know what happened but Saturday night a cold front moved into Morelia. Man oh man did it get cold fast but I was cold. In all reality, it probably wasn't that cold but I have been just enjoying almost perfect weather for 2 years and this came.  Wow, I was freezing.   When we got home from church to change our suits, I was like I'm putting on my camo!!!  I did i put my camo pjs on under my missionary clothes. haha I also had a sweater and my black coat!! I don't know what was up but I was cold and man if I was cold yesterday, man in a month or so when I arrive in SLC I'm gonna be like Sanka from Cool Runnings!! haha but ya gotta love it!!!

This week I had a very special experience with a family in our ward. This family has become close to us.  We really have gained there confidence because with other missionaries they were a little bit closed to them but they are awesome and we would always tell them if you need anything call us.  They called us during the week with sad news. They told us that their little boy Derek had been burned really bad and was in the hospital. They asked us to come give him a blessing. We dropped everything we had going and went racing for the hospital. When we got there, the family looked tired but were very happy to see us. The people in the hospital let us pass to see little Derek (he is a cute boy he is always smiling and has long curly hair) He was in a little bathtub.  He saw us and smiled even when he was in so much pain. We knelt down next to his little bathtub and gave him a blessing. I felt a great peace in the room and the company of Heavenly messengers. It was beautiful. We thought he was going to be in the hospital for a while but when we got to church on Sunday, in comes running little Derek. I was overwhelmed to see him and his Dad said that his recovery will be very good. Know that the priesthood power exists.  It is real and it is the power that God gives to his worthy sons to act in his name.

Funny story. We were racing to a lesson on Wednesday in the morning. We were walking down the side of the freeway to go teach some guys that work for Catapillar.  We were walking fast to be there on time but the sun was super bright and powerful and I couldn't see so I had my head tilted down and I was walking and walking and boom!!!! I ran into a metal sign that was on the freeway.  It was just right at the perfect height that it just wacked me right on the top of the head!!! I was seeing stars.  I was just like wohhh and then I was like-- hey snap out of it you gotta teach a lesson right now.  I went running to catch up to my comp because he was in front of me and man my head hurt.   I touched my head and yup cut it right open, yup there was blood. My comp was like what did you do and I just chuckled, it's not that bad let's go teach.  He said "ahh crazy miller" so that was a highlight. haha and yes mom, I am fine don't worry.

We were teaching a lady this week named Araceli. She is pretty cool.  We were in a lesson and she just broke down and told us everything that is going on in her life. It was sad but I knew there was hope for her there is always hope. We were talking about the family and how the gospel can help us be happy and be a family eternal, if we live by the principles. I was prompted to take out the pic of Mike and his family from my scriptures. I did so and I shared with her what a great example Mike is to me and to many. It was a special moment. I told her the relationship Mike and I have and what has happened ever since we met. His example is fierce. I love it and I know that the gospel has blessed him greatly in his life for I have seen it. I don't remember everything I said but it had me in tears. I am so grateful for Mike Eager and for the example he sets. He is a great guy and I consider him as one of my brothers.

This weekend was really great!! We had two baptisms. Brisa was baptized and Carlos. 2 days before the baptism of Brisa, she was unsure if she was going to get baptized.

She said that she hasn't felt what she needs to be baptized.  We talked with her for a very long time and left her with homework. The next day Friday we watched the Joseph Smith movie. It was great. After the movie, we bore pure testimonies to Briza of the truthfulness of everything that we do. The spirit was incredible, so strong!! After we closed our testimonies, Brisa said, "miller, I did what you told me to do, I prayed like I have never prayed before and I felt different. I know these things are true, will you baptize me tomorrow!!" It was such a beautiful moment and it is moments like these where your happiness goes to a state of joy just like it says in the Book of Mormon where there was a separation of the body and spirit--- for so great was there joy!! I love my mission and I love being one of the Lord's Representatives. We had the baptism. It was great.

I baptized Hermano Carlos.

Baptism of Hermano Carlos

What a special moment this was for me!! I can't explain it in words but all I know is that the smile that he had on his face was a true smile a pure smile and I will never forget it.  What a great guy.

I love all of you dearly.  You are in my thoughts and prayers along with investigators, members, and a lot of missionaries but know that I love you and I love you all very dearly. Know that I am safe and that I am at my Father's business. Be kind, be patient, take a pause and meditate the creations of God for they are beautiful, enjoy your surroundings, be positive and look at the good things in life, be happy, show that smile off, make someone’s day, serve, be yourself, love, laugh, enjoy the moments, live life, and love life.

I am grateful to be a child of God, to have a physical body and to be part of a family who loves me!

love your son elder miller
