hey, from ole mexico

Elder Aguilar, Elder Peterson, Elder Parry,
Elder Miller and Elder Sargent.
Hey everyone!!!!

What a great week I had here in Ole Mexico!!! It was a little crazy and I wasn't in my area for a couple days but my comp and I were still able to complete with all of our goals and we also had another baptism!!!!!! What a wonderful week. I went to the big city for a couple of days for a big conference for all the leaders in the mission. I loved it. It was awesome and I was able to learn a lot and to see many of my buddies here in the mission. We slept there in the city so in the afternoon we went out and worked. I went with my really good friend Elder Peterson. I had a blast with him. We went and taught some lessons in his area and then we had a activity in the church and we were able to play soccer!!!! What a blast. We played missionaries against members and we had small teams so every time a team scored 2 goals a new team came on. We didn't lose. Wow, I loved it.  I love soccer. It was a lot of fun.

I came back really late Thursday night but we woke up early Friday and were at it again out in the streets just a working. Friday was really special because it was my comps b day and it was mexican night in the church and we were having a baptism. Adrian got baptized right before mexican night started. It was so awesome. Adrian is the other son of Miriam. He was so super stoked for his baptism and he was just waiting all week for his baptism. I was privileged to baptize him. We entered the water and it was way cold but he came in with a big smile! He was baptized and just came up out of the water with a big smile on his face. Wow, it was so great. Then afterwards, we had the mexican night. It was to celebrate Mexico like there independence. It was fun and many members and nonmembers came to enjoy a night of fun. Oh, we also ate a ton of tacos!!! I love tacos!!

Also, I wanted to say a little about a little lady that is so awesome that we are teaching. I wanted to tell you about her because she reminds me of Grandma S.---like exactly.  Her name is Maricela. She has a little store and we always pass by to teach her and to talk with her. She is awesome. She is always smiling and she is always offering us water or treats just like grandma and she is just really down to earth. We always buy chocolate bananas from her, it always makes her day. She loves us and calls us her boys. She is a great lady and I have faith that she can have a better life through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Grandpa Miller hey your the man!!!! Just wanted to wish you a happy birthday all the way from Ole Mexico. How old are you going to be now gramps 55!!! haha Keep smiling and just enjoy the heck out of life because life is great and life is rich.  I love you gramps, have the best day ever!!!!!!!

Well have the best week ever everyone!!!!!!

hey hey

with the Gonzalez family, so good.

Wow, can you hardly even believe it that another week has gone by! Weird, wow so weird!  Time is just going by way to fast.

Well, this week was wonderful and was filled with the spirit and miracles.

Big miracle. The week before this one, the kids of Mirium didn't get baptized.  This past Monday night we were in a lesson and I just couldn't get Ramiro out of my mind.  I couldn't focus on the lesson. I felt like we needed to talk with him in that moment and also the Bishop. After the lesson, I told my companion about what I felt. I called the Bishop and told him the whole situation.  He told me "Elder Miller baptize him tomorrow and I will confirm and give him the priesthood because I want him to go to the temple with all the youth this week."  I hung up the phone and I was excited.  We dropped all of our plans and went right with Ramiro.  We didn't know what we were going to say but we trusted in the Lord and we trusted that he would give us the very words in the very moment.  We arrived and we started talking with Ramiro and everything just seemed to flow.  He told us yes, that he wanted to be baptized the next day (which was Tuesday) and that he felt like he really needed to.  I was just filled with joy. The next day we prepared everything for his baptism and his baptism was amazing. All the youth were there supporting him and the spirit was just so strong.   It was so great. He also went to the temple with the youth to do baptisms and he came back and he just couldn't stop smiling.  Yesterday he was able to pass the sacrament, and just loved it. Wow, this experience was great. Ramiro is my buddy and I love him. My testimony was strengthened this last week on following the promptings of the spirit.

Baptism of Ramiro son of Mirium.

Well, this week is another busy one.  Ton of work, more baptisms, and I have to go to the big city for a leadership conference.  I am leaving my comp in charge of the area, yeah he is young but I am super stoked for him because it is going to give him an opportunity to grow. Well g2g, lots of work to do.

hey!!!!

Wow, hey everyone!!!!!!

This week was so great for my comp and I! We had a lot of great experiences and a lot of laughs. I loved this week.

The funniest thing ever. Elder Parry had to go to Guadalajara for a zone leader conference and Elder Jaen had to stay because he was going home this week.  He finished his mission today. We were with Elder Jaen while Elder Parry was gone. It was great.  We had a great time teaching and finding new people. Elder Parry was coming home, well back to Uraupan, and we didn't know what time he was going to arrive because he didn't have a phone and he didn't call us. We were thinking that he left from the big city at like 9 or 10.  We went to sleep and woke up at 2 in the morning to go pick up Elder Parry from the bus station. We thought it was a good plan. At 2 we headed over there. I was wearing a t-shirt and camo pants and I had a little blanket.  Elder Jaen was in a t-shirt and cut off pajama pants and had his blanket.  Elder Mejia didn't bring a blanket. We got there a little after 2 and we started waiting and then we waited some more and some more and then it started to get cold.  We were trying to sleep on the chairs but they were not comfy.  I couldn't take it anymore, so I went over by the wall wrapped up in my blanket and slept on the tile.  Man o man was I freezing. Then the others followed me. So, picture this 3 missionaries in normal weird clothes and one white boy laying on the tile freezing wrapped up in blankets trying to sleep while waiting for a good friend. Quite the picture. Yah and we got some great looks from all of the other people. I was tired but happy and I was laughing it was great.  Yes at 5 in the morning Elder Parry showed up. haha  So now I can say that I have slept in a bus station.

We have an investigator, well a family and they are so awesome!! I love them. but The hermano, well he was a boxer so he always tries to mess with my comp and I.  My comp is like let's arm wrestle. So we arm wrestled. My comp beat Moises and when it was my turn, Moises was saying that I had no chance.  Then I beat him twice in a row and he stopped talking.  haha  I told hermano that I have a game that I think you will really like. I taught them how to play the Joseph Smith game where you sit on your butt and you have a stick and you pull and try to throw the other person. Yah that one.  Well it was awesome!!!  I am still unbeaten. Nobody could beat me and they were all like how do you do it?  Where does all that strength come from?  What do you eat. haha It was so funny and we had a lot of laughs with the familia de Moises. Hey so when I get back if anybody wants to challenge me, I am always game.

Last night we had a lesson with Miriam and her familia. It was so great, like it is always.  They are just amazing but they said, hey lets make a treat before you have to go home. We were thinking of what to make when I was like how about we make a treat that I used to make at my house with my buddies. Oh Mom,  I don't think you ever knew about this. haha But it was good. We made flour tortillas and when they were hot we put butter on them and then we put sugar on them. Wow they were amazing.  haha  Everyone loved them.  They were great and we ate them with hot chocolate! buenisimo!!!!

We are also teaching a young couple named Jaun and Mari. They are super chosen they are so great like really!!! We were with them Friday, Saturday and yesterday.  Yesterday Mari told us that she prayed and asked God about her baptism and if it was true and something that she needs to do in her life. She said while she was praying the greatest feeling came over her. A peace that was so strong and it just filled her. She said she just felt a very strong warm feeling inside and then she told us that she knew it was true! amazing!! Wow I love this work!!!!

Well, I have work to do! and there is a lot of it!!

have the best week ever!!!

rain and a ton!!!!!!!

Wow, this week was super weird and interesting but I loved it!

It rained literally for 4 days without stopping. Wow, it was crazy and the clouds were super thick and they came down into the valley.  It got cold.  I was praying that it would snow but to my surprise it did not. ha ha.  It was a little difficult to do the work because all the people were inside and we got wet a lot and lots of things happened.  We knew that the Lord would bless us if we were strong and kept our faith and our happiness. Well he certainly did. We ended the week with 30 lessons, it was amazing we taught and taught and taught lesson after lesson. Wow, I loved it and the Lord was totally blessing us. We were able to teach a lot of spirit filled lessons and help many of God's children come unto CHRIST and it just made me so happy.
Ben and Elder Miller

Elder Mejia, Ben and Elder Miller
My man Benjamin was baptized this week on Sunday before church and then he was confirmed in sacrament. This ole boy is awesome and my experiences with him I truly cherish. He is 60 and has had a few accidents in his life.  He has had two strokes and he also crashed on his 4-wheeler so he has his difficulties. He can barely talk and he can't remember hardly anything.  He can't use one of his arms but I truly saw a miracle with this man. We taught him for 3 weeks and we had very little progress he forgot almost everything. I was going to drop him but something told me that we couldn't and that we had to keep on teaching him and visiting him. This last week we were praying for somebody that we could baptize and Ben came to our minds. We said we will trust this impression. We went with him, after much prayer he was different. We taught him and he remembered everything and loved it. He was able to learn and to speak. I believe it was the gift of interpretation because there are not many who understand him.  It was amazing but really amazing! He loved everything we were teaching and when Sunday came he was all ready for his baptism. Wow, what a tender mercy. I love my life and I love this work. God lives and he is a God of miracles!! Mom, I would like to talk to you more about this when I get home because it was amazing.

This week was just jam packed with great stuff. We met with a young couple for the first time named Juan and Mari.  This lesson was amazing and the spirit was so strong. We were talking about Christ and His atonement and what he wants us to do and so we talked about baptism and this is the first lesson. We talked a little about baptism and Mari said to us, " what do we have to do to be baptized?"  I was shocked but we explained to her and then we invited them to be baptized and they accepted.  She asked us how did you feel when you were baptized and how do you feel now. In short, I told her I feel something that can't be explained in words but it is one of the greatest joys that there is.  She said "I will feel that and I will have that in my life.  I will work hard and do what the Lord says so that I can feel life that as well."  I was filled with joy. I can't even explain how much I love my mission and what I'm doing. These experiences are amazing.  I am so grateful to be in instrument in the Lord's hands.

Mom, tell Kimball that I loved the MTC and that he needs to take advantage of the MTC. He may feel like he is in there for a long time but he can learn a ton. Tell him to always be positive and always focus on the good things and he will love it. Tell Kimball that I love him and he is my brother. He is a great kid and he will be an excellent missionary. Tell him to love the people. Tell him I love him.

Well gotta go, I have a big soccer game to go to. Missionaries vs members loser pays for a bbq. haha
