the ranch life

What a life I have!!

Familia y amigos I just want to let you all know that I love life!! Life is a beautiful thing that we all have!!! We have so many things to be grateful for in our lives here on the earth!! Just go outside take a look around take a deep breath and just enjoy it all!! If you are in the rain, snow, sleet, heat it doesn't matter it is all amazing and it is all just a huge blessing. LIFE!! Live it!!

I really had a pretty interesting week this week and I have seen a lot of change in my life. I have great desires to do the work of the Lord and it keeps on getting stronger everyday and more sweeter! Obedience many view as an irritant but for me it really has become a quest! Exact Obedience!! The big and the small and simple things all of it is important even when you don't think it matters very much. Our Savior was exactly obedient and we should also strive to this kind of obedience. It is through our obedience that we receive great blessings from our Heavenly Father and POWER to do his will and work! I have a testimony of Obedience it has helped me change my life and become more like my Savior!
So here is a little funny story for all of you maybe not for the little ones haha But I think you will get a kick out of it. Elder Cuevas and I were walking through this big pasture the other day and there was a ton of horses and there was this little cult standing in the grass eating. My comp turns to me and says " Elder Miller why does that little horse still have his umbilical cord?" I looked and said "compa that little horse is a boy horse" It took him a couple minutes to get my drift haha oh man I was busting up laughing. oh and it's not over. About an hour later we were knocking doors and out side of this house was a little cow. My comp turns to me and says"why did they cut off 3 utters on that little cow and only leave one utter" So I looked and the same thing happened again. I said" compa remember the little baby boy horse? he said yes. Then I said, well this is a little baby boy cow!!!! Oh man I was laughing so so hard it was pretty funny.
Oh and this week was awesome!! It really was. It was filled with the spririt and we found a lot of really cool people!!!! I can feel that we are going to have a lot of success here! We are going to have a baptism this weekend and for the next couple weeks after!! I can just tell that I am super super excited!!!!

ranchin it up!!!

Familia!!!!!! I love you!!!!! I also love everybody else!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had another saweet week here in my new area. Things are starting to come around. I got here and nothing was really going but my comp and I are doing everything we can to get things going!!! It is starting to be really saweet. We are starting to find some people that are really awesome and have great potential to progress in the Restored Gospel of JESUS CHRIST. Carmen and her family are still awesome!! She is just loving everything and wants to be baptized. She is not married so we are going to do some saweet work so that she can get married and later baptism!!!!!

There was a baptism in the zone on Saturday and so my comp and I took investigators. We took 7 to the baptism. The baptism was perfect for them. The spirit was so strong and all of them could feel in their hearts that this was the true and only way to be baptized. I love taking investigators to baptisms because the spirit is so strong. It is a place that they can know and we can reconfirm the testimony that we have that these things are true.  That they can  also know the priesthood power was restored to the earth through Joseph Smith. It is with this power we as Gods children can have a valid baptism and later receive the Holy Ghost. I know that the Gospel of JESUS CHRIST has been restored to the earth. If you have time go watch a baptism and take a friend.

Funny thing!!! When we were going to the baptism we went in a taxi and guess what? We put 11 people in one little nissan taxi. It was so dang funny!! Only in mexico!!! Gotta love it!!!!

I am in the valley of Uruapon, it is beautiful!!!! Really it truly is! I love it!!!   I have been reading a lot in Mosiah and when Alma and his followers left into to the wilderness and when it talks about the valley they find---- I just think of this place, well here in Uruapon. Because it talks about how there was a lot of water and pure water and how beautiful it was and I think of this area!! Oh and in the BOM they call that land Helam. It is saweet.  I love it here and I love the scriptures.  I never want to put them down. There is so much to learn from them!!!!

Well there is work to be done!!!!

love you!!!!!

keep it real

in the ranch

Hey how is going!!!!! I hope everyone is just fine and dandy!!!!!

This pic is of Mayco, Elder Miller and Pancho.   Elder Miller
baptized Mayco in Apatzingan (the ranch) last summer.  After
Mayco was baptized he served as ward clerk and mission
leader in the branch in Apatzingan.  This pic was taken
in Sept. 2010 when they went hiking above Apatzingan.

Ok ok, first before I say anything, I have to tell you the greatest news in the whole world!!!! Last week at Conference all of the members from Apatzingan came. I was filled with great joy to see them. I was greeted with many smiles, hugs and laughs. It was amazing and I love them dearly. So remember when I left the ranch (last November, before the violence broke out) and I got to talk to Mayco (he is 18 and I baptized him when I first arrived in the ranch, about 1 year ago). Well, I promised him some things that night when we were talking. One was that, I promised him that through his example his mother would join the church.  A little while back, Mayco had the oppotunity to take his mom down into the waters of baptism and baptize her!!!!!! He was so happy and so was she. She now has a calling in the Relief Society!!! So awesome!!! The other great news, Mayco promised me that he would be a missionary one day. Well it is coming to pass, all of his papers are done. He is sending them in and will be out in the field as a missionary probably in July!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The joy I received to know that Mayco is going to be a missionary was just overwhelming. Now he will have the opportunity to invite all to come unto CHRIST as a full time missionary!!! I am so happy.  I gave him one of my suits and he loved it!! He is going to be an amazing missionary!!!!!!
This is a picture of Bishop Bautisa, Elder Miller and Mayco
at the April 2011 Conference in Uruapon.

My comp is named Elder Cuevas like caves.  He is from Campeche, but its down by the Yucatan!! He is super young like he has 18 years! He is a great elder. We definitely have our differences that's for sure but that doesn't matter to me. I'm just going to love him for who he is and serve him and help him in whatever way I can.
Elder Miller on the dusty roads
 in Mexico.

We were out in the country this week.  I mean the country, with cows and dirt roads just out in the bush. We were guided to a little blue house and here in this house we found Carmen and her family!!! Oh how amazing is Carmen. She is awesome!! She lived in Texas out on a ranch outside of Austin. She has talked to the missionaries before and had a book of mormon but didn't really remember!! She told us of an experience that she had where she felt so so good. We taught her and afterwards she told how amazing she felt in the lesson and how she was going to cry. She knows it is true and she is a golden investigator!! She is awesome.

Well the ranch life is the best!!! I'm still getting accustomed a bit, but I love it!!!

Mom I need a big fav!! I need some new stuff, like shirts, all mine are trashed. If you could send me some new ones, I'd love it and the same size.  Six short sleeves and 2 long, 2 new pairs of slacks like grey and a pair of brown. There is a new rule that we have to wear cologne (like acqua di gio, I don't know how to spell it) everyday and mine is almost out. If you could send me some more, I would be really grateful. I have to be a sharp looking warrior! Thanks mom, you are the best!!!

I love all of you more than all the traveling I did last night to get to Guadalajara. It was a lot and I got bus sik annnnnnd I puked. It was interesting, but know that I love all of you so so much!!!!

I miss you a ton, but there is work to be done!!!!
