hello family

hello family

I don’t have much time. I am super busy. Mexico it really great. I already have a sweet tan. yeah I’m so stoked to be dark. My spanish is rough. I have no idea what anyone is saying but it’s all good. I live in a little house outside of Guadalajara. It’s called Buenos Aris or something. My area is up on a hill. It’s sweet. Um they cut our water off and stuff so we have to take bucket showers. We get a bucket of water and put our iron in it to heat up the water. Fun stuff right. haha mexican style. Church was great. I love all the members. They are nice and they are helping me with me spanish. I had to get up in church yesterday and talk about myself and bear my testimony in front of the ward. It was good.
We are teaching a bunch not me so much but I’m trying. So this is way cool. Saturday night I got my first baptism. It was a little girl named Sarai. It was so awesome and wonderful. She had the biggest smile! So yeah I’m stoked for my mission.
We went to the zoo today. It was pretty sik off the chain. We walk a ton!!! I’m not joking. We walk everywhere. Oh and we ride buses. Now that is crazy!! They are always jam packed and the drivers drive like there is no tomorrow. It’s crazy down here. I’m excited to learn the language and actually be able to carry on a conversation. sweet sweet.
I have been going on splits with one of the zone leaders. pretty sik. I went way out in the country with him to do some interviews. This part of Mexico (my mission) is dope!!

love ya tonz
Like to talk more but there is work to be done.

I got 5 more minutes.  Um it’s pretty dang hot here in the day time. So we just walk to different peoples houses and when we are there we just ask for a drink and they always give us one. They are very giving. WOW!! Have I had some good food!! Yes I have. Somebody feeds us every single day. Everyday it has been good. Tacos, soup, fish, rice ah I love it. And yes I have gotten in the rocky mountain quick step haha, but that is just a part of the experience. My comp is elder Kuhn. He is a district leader he is a really good elder and loves the work.

love ya bye

hey fam what’s up?
thanks for all of the gifts mom. everyone loved them and were so thankful. they are all excited to meet you in 2 years. we are going to have a BBQ at our house when we all get back. it will be pretty bomb.  everyone was so happy for there package. thank you really.
sorry i hit the send button. I’m not good with computers.
so what’s this i hear about dad almost getting into a fight. Ha ha  i can totally see him pushing out his chin and walking down and getting in some guys face. but what’s this i hear, mom was the more rowdy one. Ha ha dad are you starting to get old? No, i think just more patient. good job. as patient as i am, that is something i am really working on right now. being patient because I’m still here, with my district and with my comp. it’s tough being in leadership. i feel like I’m babysitting 8 other elders most of the time. they are all awesome elders, they just need to grow into the men that they all are. i know, if i keep loving, encouraging, and correcting with love they will come around. they will all be great.

um hermano dela cruz, i will just give him that journal that you sent to me. then you can just send me another one. he loves to write down all of his personal revelation. so i think, he would love the journal. i will just give him that.
everything here is totally just dandy. I’m still learning so much, and i love it. i learn something new everyday. yesterday we went outside with  hermano dela cruz. we would walk around and he would point at an object. then a companionship would have to take that object and relate it to a gospel principle. they would have to teach about it and use the scripture. i loved this. everything can really be related to the gospel. you guys should do this for family night one night or when you go hiking. look at things around you and relate them back to the gospel. you will love it. i do that’s for sure.
what else is going on in your life? anything new and exciting? any trips planned besides the one to mexico to bring my  drivers license? Ha ha
pops are you still going to send me your post brief?  any news on cam’s, weston’s, or josh’s call? they should be getting them soon right?

gotta run

love you

What’s up family?

I love every minute that I’m here! Have i told you that before? Well, now you know for sure. This is the best!

k i gotta new email this is what it is.            jakem@myldsmail.net
can you do me a huge favor? i just sent a letter to Danielle and Savanah and i gave them my wrong email address. i thought it was going to be jake.miller@myldsmail, but it ended up changing to jakem@myldsmail.net. if you could tell them, that would be sweet. oh and danielle might be calling you guys just to give you a heads up. i told her that if she wanted to send a letter she could give it to you guys and you could put it in your packages or when you bring down my drivers license. so be nice to her, ha ha she is way cool.
on the gifts mom, the sooner the better. we could get our visas any day and leave the day after we get them, so the sooner the better.  Elder Fletcher was the only one to get his visa so he is not here anymore. we dropped him off this morning. he is probably to Tijuana by now.
tell all your friends that I’m doing awesome! i love what i am doing!!
mom can you write elder Robinson please. he is having a tough time. he found out that one of his ligaments is torn in his shoulder. he most likely will have to get surgery. as of right now he can not leave to Mexico with us. It’s gotta be tough but he has a great attitude and a very strong testimony. a letter would sure help him out. we gave him a priesthood blessing. it was amazing. i also have given two blessings this week to elders in my district. the power of the priesthood is real. i have seen and felt it. it is such an amazing power and I’m so grateful that i am worthy to possess it.
i was studying about praying with faith. this is so important. In order to teach you have to have the spirit and to obtain the spirit you need to pray with faith. Moroni 7:48
i am enjoying all of the warm weather. It’s nice but it will be even nicer in Mexico.
I’m sorry I’m such a slow typer and can’t write that much because I’m slow.
brady and kel keep on keeping on it. life is a garden so dig it.
jacee how is the truck. is it sweet yet. you will have to tell me what you do.
love ya more than all the laundry I’ve done

family how are all of you?  i hope everything is going great.  thank you for the tie mom.  i wore it today to the temple.  today was beautiful.  the weather was so nice. Don’t worry, i got some pics with the tie.  it is a gnarly tie. I  talked to tonz of people today at the temple.  it was so nice.  i had a cool experience at the temple as well.  it was very spiritual and something that i will remember forever.   the weather is sort of bad now.  i love utah.
hope everything went good today.  I’m sure it did.  i bet it was really nice.

so travel plans.  Yeah,  i did get them.
i leave the mtc at 8
fly out of slc at 12:05
  land in dallas at 3:35
   leave dallas at 5:25
   land in Guadalajara at 7:00
pretty sweet right!  I’m so stoked!  i am actually leaving utah.  It’s going to be way awesome!
i need a couple things before i leave though, if that’s alright.   if you could, could you get me like 3 more of those leather jounals?  i love mine, but i am filling it up quick.  i want all my personal mission journals to be those.  it will be like my own personal scripture.
gifts for Hermana Lakip and Hermano Dela Cruz.  i don’t know what you are getting them, but if you were still going to do that.  i was just yeah.  if you don’t have time that’s okay.
can you send me my old camera?  that little cool pix.  because mine doesn’t take as clear of pics.   i will just send mine back and I’ll send my card with it right now so you can have the pics that are on that card.  if you could send me a new card,  and you can leave that card that is in that old cool pix that’s fine.  jacee could just up load that card on to the computer then you could just put that card back into that camera and send it to me.  i just want you to have clear pics when i get back mom haha
drivers license.  any news?  if it doesn’t come by the time i leave, you and dad will have to fly down and give it to my mission president, because you would not want to send that in the mail.
Dad can you do me a big favor?  can you get 3 of those black brahma hats from work and send them to me. T he cool gangster ones.  i have 3 really good friends in here right now. they want one. i told them i will do what i can.   if you can’t get any that’s fine,  but if you can that would be awesome.  hey then Brahma would be getting its name out all across the world. they gotta be here this week haha cause I’m peacing out on Monday. thanks pops
Tha’ts all my major things.  i cant think of any thing else so if i need in last minute stuff I’ll just email you on Thursday.

so guess what?  guess what?  tomorrow on Wednesday elder Saguibo and i are teaching.  we are teaching an investigator in front of like 50 missionaries.  yeah how cool right? right!  all the new missionaries that come in tomorrow get split up into rooms.  they observe missionaries and how they teach.  Well,  we are the missionaries that are teaching.  yeah its a big deal.  we are setting such a huge example for all these new missionaries.  it gives me the butterflys a bit,  but i love that feeling and i love teaching.  i will let you know how it goes on Thursday.
oh you know those sweet yellow kicks i got for my mission.  yeah they aren’t yellow anymore.  sorry mom.  i colored them black with a permanent marker.  i just think they are too flashy  and i don’t need that here.  i can wear bright and wild stuff when i get back.  they still fit the same so that’s good and that’s what matters.
cant wait to hear from all of you.
i love you guys more that all of the smiles i give

1 week left in the MTC

Travel plans should be coming today sweet sweet!!  I’m so very stoked!

Mom were you and dad going to send me some pesos?  because if you were I’m leaving in a week, just to let you know.
everything here is just the same.  every new day brings something exciting.  my district is starting to do better and to study harder and have more focus. i have been tougher with them, sometimes that’s how it has to be. I’m only pushing them harder because i want them to be as ready as they can be.  they are awesome and all of them are really good elders.
How is everything on the home front? . hope everything is alright.
pops guess what?  i was thinking about this the other day.  since I’ve been gone your mind has probably been able to rest a bit . i mean in this way.  you don’t have to think of what girl i went out with the night before and what her name was. hahaha you never could get them all right. haha  but you did get to meet al ot of really unique, cool girls even if you couldn’t remember there names.
well spring is definately coming, it feels like.  It’s so great. I can walk around the MTC campus and not see my breath.  winter wasn’t too long this season, that’s sort of a bummer.  It’s alright brady, there is always next year.  I’m excited to get into the warm weather. i was talking to a guy that went to my exact same mission. he said i will absolutely love it. he also told me that my slacks will have salt stains on them by the end of the week and at the end of the day i will be able to ring water out of my shirt and g's.  crazy crazy.  makes me stoked.  Also, it rains a ton down there like it floods and stuff.  so they would put a bucket outside and the rain would fill it up.  then they would stick their iron in the water to heat it up.  then they would use that to take a shower. Yeah,  my mission is going to be so BOMB!
Jacee how are you doing? how are the workouts? how are the dates? and the truck? what? did you even get it?  you haven’t even told me anything about it.
kel Que pasa. how is life?   busy.  That’s alright so is mine haha.   how are the pictures coming.  sorry i can’t be your little model anymore.  haha.  Don’t worry when i get back, i will be better looking. haha.  i will be tan, i will have lighter hair and i will be taller.  I’m having really bad growing pains right now, it’s now fun. maybe when i get back,  i will be the tallest in the family.  yeah i know, there is only one standing in my way.  watch out brady.
brady, how is school? pretty rough. That’s all right though you are building your knowledge and learning.  going to school is just like learning a language.  in order for someone to obtain the gift of tongues they can’t just pray and it will come.  they have to work with all there strength and struggle to learn it to obtain it.  it talks about this in Preach my Gospel.   if you are struggling and working and trying to learn and obtain your education you will be blessed and you will be able to obtain and accomplish what you want.
here is a quote for all of you.  it is from Elder JD Miller.  i really love it.    here is a quote for all of you.  it is from Elder JD Miller.  i really love it.
"When you put limits on your own ability, you are only hindering your true potential."
think about, tell me what you think.
i love it and read it often cause there is much truth in it.
mom how are you doing?  are you still watching the food network? haha someday you will be on that show.  mom everything with me is awesome.  Don’t worry about me.  i am doing so good with everthing.

Love you gotta run

Elder JD Miller

hello hello
coming live to you from the provo mtc.

few things really quick
have you seen my drivers license.?  i really need that because my little paper one is just a temporary.
going to that specialist was a joke.  he didn’t do anything for me he just told me the exact same thing the MTC doctor told me.  but I’m fine now.  since sunday morning my stomach hasn’t hurt at all, so its all good.  mom don’t worry about me.
everything at the MTC is just great.  i love everyday that I’m here.  the weather is starting to get better.  hopefully they will open the field before i leave, so i can show these elders how to play some soccer.  But, yes mom i will be careful if i play
i ate lunch at the temple today.  oh it was so good. i love eating at the temple.
my friend, Elder Fast, that just left to Guatamala was so awesome.  i can’t wait to see him when he gets back. . he gave me one of his ties as a gift.  it was one that was very special to him.  he was such a great friend and influence on me.  Elder Dudley is Elder Densley actually haha.   he left a week ago. he is serving in Texas.  i was really close to him as well.  he will be going to UVU when he gets back, so i will be able to see him.
I get my travel plans this week!!!!!!! on like Thursday or Friday so i will let you know the plans and everything.  i will be leaving on the 15th.  i talked to a teacher that went to my mission, he got back a year ago.  he is tight.  he said im going to totally love it.  everyone i have talked to says that it is just the bomb!! so yeah I’m so stoked!!!!!!
the days just go by really fast here and I’m loving everything that I’m doing.  i know I’m supposed to be here to learn and grow and to bring others unto Christ. there is no where else in the world I’d rather be right now.  even on a sled with 5ft of fresh fluff.  this work brings me happiness and is making me such a better person as an elder as a friend as your son and as a child of God. i am being trained by my Heavenly Father and his Son Jesus Christ. It’s so great.  i want to be the best that i can be so can be a powerful instrument in the Lords hands.  As a missionary i am the tool or instrument.  i bring this message of happiness to others and by doing this the light of Christ and the spirit can touch the lives of these people that we teach.  you need to be worthy of the spirit at all times.  he will help you in times of need.  if you don’t have the spirit you can not teach, period.  through the spirit you can be powerful and touch the lives of many.
Elder Saguibo and i taught Bartolo this last week.  it was amazing.  Each companionship taught an investigator also.  teaching Bartolo was so great. we taught and at the same time he would try to help us with spanish.. we taught him about being an example.  we read about The 2000 stripling warriors and about Moroni. and stressed the importance of being an example to everyone that is around you.  the spirit was strong. the next day Hermano asked us what we had done to Bartolo.  we were like what?  "did we do something wrong" he said no we didn’t.  he said we totally changed Bartolo.  he was way fired up and couldn’t stop talking about our teaching to Hermano.  when they dropped off each of his friends the other investigators,  he asked each one to commit to come back this week so that they could be taught again by us. I think he realized that he needs to be an example to his friends. He is taking them to church this week as well. i can’t wait to talk to him again and follow up with him ahhh it was so awesome!!!!
Brady do they have any pics of the 2011 skidoos yet?
Jacee did you get your truck?
Kel how is all the picture taking?

love you gotta go
love you
